VISUAL LANGUAGE: project 2, part 7: semi-final POSTERS! rawk.

1.

RHETORICAL TROPES USED:
hyperbole is used through the scribbles through the mouths to emphasize the candidates not speaking--or one not listening to what come out of their mouths.
irony is used in the way that the mouths are scratched out, yet the poster is talking about speaking.
personification is displayed through the type, giving the word issues a humanistic trait in it being able to speak.




2.

RHETORICAL TROPES USED:

parody is used in the two monkeys as they are supposed to be mocking the donkey and elephant symbols.
irony is shown in terms of the candidates being portrayed as a derogatory animal instead of having the donkey / elephant symbol connotation. --the text says forget the faces, yet the monkeys are made of the faces.
personification is used through the monkeys being the candidates.
